Cadillac Confessionals: Anna Dello Russo

Bergdorf Goodman will be debuting the documentary "Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's," in celebration of their 111th anniversary as a luxury retailer. The movie premiers on September 12th at the Paris Theatre in New York City.

In promotion of this documentary, Bergdorf's has began posting a series of short videos on You Tube. In these video's Linda Fargo, SNR VP of Fashion Office and Store Presentation, is captured having conversation with iconic figures in today's fashion industry in the back seat of a Cadillac.

This particular one with the goddess of unique style and fearless expression, Anna Dello Russo, is just what I needed to get my derrière back into gear after my super lazy busy summer.

What isn`t there to love about ADR? Her accent is so sweet, her honesty is charming, and her style is mesmerizing. If you are not familiar with Anna (shame on you if you aren't) I guarantee you will be IN LOVE with her by the time this clip is over.

What did I tell you? Isn't she just a peach?! My favourite line of hers from this clip is, "We are like gypsy's on the water and with this flag. Fashion!" She is so effortlessly poetic it is just sickening! In a good way, of course.

Check out her blog for some serious high-fashion nourishment if you haven't already.

From Britten P/L - Spring '13

From Britten P/L is the fashion baby of Melbourne based design brothers Alex and Tim Britten-Finschi. Their spring collection incorporates over-sized sportswear and casual wear with impeccable tailoring. The structured, cropped jacket over the white collared shirt is the money for me. Luxurious silks, an alluring colour story and an overall laid back feeling. This collection was made for me!

The oversized garments trend in menswear is not going anywhere and I never thought I would be so on board for this one. I almost wish I had kept some stuff from my excessively baggy high school wardrobe. I would have been sooo on trend for next season right? ... Riiight!?

Katie Eary - Spring '13

When I first laid eyes on these amazing prints I instantly fell in love! What can I say, I gravitate towards bright colours and intricate prints like a crow to shiny things. The layering and gold accents are phenomenal; finished with fresh white sneakers to nudge the vibe in the right direction. A round of applause for the stylist that put these looks together!  If Manish Arora and Adidas had a bad ass love child, Katie Eary would be it. The only down side to this collection are the fits in my opinion. A little too baggy on some of the T's and pullovers but perfect for a too-cool-for-school skater boy. I have been stepping outside of my comfort zone lately and playing around with some over-sized garments so you may just see me rocking one of these pieces real soon.. or at least something like it.

I'm On A Boat

The ferry ride from Vancouver to the Island never gets old. Maybe it is because I take that journey only once or twice a year but I find it so relaxing! The beautiful views, fresh ocean air and the feeling of adventure brings me to my happy place. The weather cleared up as the ferry neared Victoria so it what else is a blogger to do? Snap some pictures of course!

PS: Do you like my new do? It's very West Side Story, no?

3.1 Phillip Lim

I can never get enough of 3.1 Phillip Lim! The pieces are always perfectly simplistic yet eye catching. The colour palette for this Spring '13 Menswear collection was quite soft for the most part with a punch of print here and there to spice things up. Lim is becoming known for his strong monochromatic designs and I would say that Calvin Klein should keep a watchful eye on this guy! Check out the rest of this collection here.

Summertime Blues

Shirt/Trousers: H&M, Shoes: Rockadelic, Belt: American Apparel, Necklace: Aldo

I know, I'm just way too cool to look at the camera in these shots but the truth is my eyes were burning without sunglasses on. Believe me when I say that I tried and trust me when I say how terrible those shots turned out. No one wants to see a grown man crying on a fashion blog or any blog for that matter.

Blue has always been my favorite colour and these cobalt blue Rockadelic sneakers that I snagged from Beyond The Rack (for a GREAT price, might I add) are currently my prized possession. Threw in the belt to bring some life into a simple look without over styling it. The roommates dog came along for the walk when my boyfriend, the talented guy behind the lens, noticed that our "outfits" matched right down to his blue collar. Don't we look good together?

Pringle of Scotland - Spring '13 Menswear

It's the most wonderful time of the year. And no, I'm not talking about Christmas. Men's Fashion Week kicked off in London a few days ago and I am already freaking out like a school girl at a One Direction concert. I absolutely love London Fashion Week because it almost never disappoints. There is just something about the way a garment is tailored in the UK that reminds you what the English are known for. And tailoring is something that this scrawny Canadian needs more of in his life.

Alistair Carr killed it for the Spring 2013 Pringle of Scotland Menswear collection. He kept it simple and dapper, blending tradition with modern innovation. Everything was very wearable and the cuts were bang on. Any men with a phobia of "short shorts" might think otherwise if they tried on a pair from this masculine fashion house. And can we talk about the two tone trousers?! They are #ChicToTheNextLev (sorry, I couldn't resist). I want 10 pairs in each colour so that I can wear them 24/7 for the rest of my life.

I saved my favourite look for last. The styling here is doing all sorts of right for me. And yes I'm talking about the clothes!
